My new babies!!

As promised here are my two new boys, Yes more boys I am becoming surrounded by so much testosterone around here, it's ridiculous.  But these are the cutest little boys that you could imagine, totally toilet trained and they love to be inside watching tv and having cuddles.  No, they are not dogs, or cats they are bunnies.
Let me introduce you:   This is Lightning!!!!!
Lightning is 6 months old and a bit of a neat freak.  Nothing in his little cage is out of place.  He likes cuddles, playing with his toys and watching dora the explorer!!
And this:           Is Squiglet
He likes eating, anything really he is a bit of a guts.  He is 1 year old, toilet trained too and is not a neat freak whatsoever.  He enjoys throwing things around in his hutch, including his litter tray and will watch anything on tv, although, just quietly I think he prefers American Idol.......that's my boy!!
Does anyone else out there have rabbits???

Boxes Boxes and more Boxes !!!

Only 11 more days until the big move and I am surrounded by boxes.  They are in every corner in every room in every shape and size and I swear the little buggers multiply.  We have hired a container for storage and as soon as we take one lot, another lot seems to magically appear and grow from nowhere.
And just between you and me.............I think they watch me.................... I"m sure they do.  They sit there stacked up neatly in a corner and when they hear me approaching they jump out at me and stub my toe or whatever other body part they can manage to attack.
I am covered in bumps and bruises as a result of there little sharp edges and bulky frames.
Well I'll fix them you just wait until you are all unpacked you square things you, I will rip you up into little pieces and toss you  into the fire  HA HA HA    HA HA HA  HA HA HA  (evil laugh!!)
Not long my pretties and you will be gone for good!!
Okay enough of me, watch this spot for a formal introduction to the two new babies in our family!!
Take care, buzzee xx

No news is good news!

So they say "No news is good news" and that is definitely true in my case.  So much has happened here in the past few weeks.  The big news.......drumroll please............................................................................
I HAVE SOLD MY HOUSE!   Yippee, hooray, I am so excited.
We only have a month to go before we move out and into my beautiful new home, so life is hectic here, packing boxes and organising everything for the big move.
Another thing that has made me happy is my first attempt at re-vamping a little stool that I got for $2.00 at a garage sale two weeks ago.  I have been totally inspired lately by Meg (from Meg and Mum's blog)  and after picking this little stool up so cheap I was determined to create my first little project.  The lady that I bought the stool from said that it had already been re-upholstered, but it was definitely tired and in need of a brand new look. So here is my creation.  Hopefully the first of many.  Thanks for the inspiration Meg xx
Take care, keep smiling

Nice little stool, a bit tired, and not quite..me!

paintwork, was a bit dull and rusty.

The paint on the legs had seen better days too.

                                                         After!

Turn your head on the side or this one sorry

My thoughts are with you.

Today, I sit here and think about everything that I am truly grateful for.  I think about my friends, my family, my home, my stuff and the really nice life that I really do have, and I sit here, helpless as a cyclone is causing havoc in my beautiful country, and I think of all the lives that are affected and the helplessness that they must be feeling, and I feel that my every day concerns are nothing compared with what these people are going through.  It's amazing how something such as this can put everything into perspective.  I love the way the whole country comes together to help out strangers.
After the floods recently I was amazed at the stories I heard of the lengths that people go to, to help their fellow Aussies.  My mum saw her cousin at a shop afterwards stocking up on kilos of pet food, she said it had occured to her that lots of people were being helped, but we musn't forget the animals.  Amazing.
Anyway, my thoughts and prayers are with everyone there (human or animal) and just know that this will pass and you have the rest of Australia has "got your back"

My thoughts are also, today with my brother, who is in hospital having an operation.  Take it easy and get lots of rest.  xxxx

Bye for now, buzzee

Gelati Party!!

Happy Australia Day, I hope at least some of you got to sleep in and have a wonderful relaxing day ahead.  If you haven't been to visit my special occasion page yet, have a look at my cheese and vegemite pinwheel scone recipe.
Speaking of recipes I promised you gelati made from the beautiful strawberries that we picked last Saturday, so here it is..............soooo easy.

STRAWBERRY GELATI

500g strawberries
1 cup icing sugar
300g thickened cream

Blitz the strawberries and the icing sugar together in a blender or food processor until they become a smooth puree.
Add the cream and blitz again until well combined.
Place in a 2litre ice cream or airtight container and freeze overnight.

Enjoy!
NB- This recipe is for real strawberry lovers, it has an intense strawberry flavour, if you prefer more of a creamy ice cream just add more cream or less of the strawberry puree.

Strawberry fields forever!!

Today was a big day.  We all went on a family picnic to Hahndorf and then went strawberry picking at the Beerenberg Farm.  This was so much fun.  I did take my camera along but being in a mad rush this morning to get my place ready for an open inspection today, and then a mad rush out of the door I left the memory card at home. DOH!  The good news is you can buzz over to http://www.bananarunkin.blogspot.com/ for pics of the day.  Fortunately mamie girl was more prepared for snaps than I was.  You can also see a picture of me with my strawberries and my unusually pouty lips (I don't know what went on there, maybe they were all plumped up at the sight of the berries LOL)
Anyhow I did manage to take a photo of the ruby red and extremely sweet little jewels when we got home.
Stay tuned in the next few days I will be making a delicious strawberry gelato.....yum
Keep smiling, enjoy the rest of the weekend Buzzee xx
